Road Riding

Spin Class

Thought I'd provide some feedback on the spin class. First the pros: 1. It's not as easy as you think. In fact, if you take it seriously and stay in a harder gear, it will definitely challenge you. I've done six classes and when I leave I'm drenched in sweat. 2. The spin bikes are top notch. I wear my gravel bike shoes and clip in with no problem. Also, the bikes' digital readout lets you know what gear you're in as well as watts. 3. I can feel an improvement. When I ride my road or gravel setup on the weekends, I feel stronger. 4. The instructors are friendly and engaging. Now the cons: 1. The music isn't really my cup of tea, but it's designed to compliment each segment of the ride (for example: climbing, sprinting and jumping). 2. There are times when I feel like the weird, old dude. Most of the participants are women. 3. Lack of continuity. There have been a couple of times when I was the only one signed up and the class wound up being cancelled. So, for what it's worth, that is my take on Cycleology spin class.

Thought I’d try a spin class over at Cycleology this Tuesday at 6:30pm. The first class is free; so, if you hate it, there’s no obligation. For more information, check out their site. Be cool if we could get a club group in there during the offseason at least once a week. Maybe we could get a discount?
