Following is an invitation that was sent out to those running for Greenville City Council. I don't know how many will show up, but it will be a good way to find out their stance on cycling, greenways, etc. The request for an RSVP is for the candidates only.
I hope you're able to make it out.

The Friends of Greenville Greenways cordially invite you to attend a City Council Candidate Forum
When: October 15, 2011, 11am-1 pm Where: Greenville Toyota Amphitheater at the Town Common
The Friends of Greenville Greenways would like to see more greenways, bikeways, sidewalks, and parks constructed in the future to accommodate our growing community. With the City Council elections approaching, we would like to give you an opportunity to express your views on this subject and answer questions from voters.
Each candidate will receive three minutes to speak. During that time, we ask that you address the following three questions:
· How do greenways, bikeways, sidewalks, and parks fit into your vision for Greenville?
· What kinds of funding should the city provide for greenway planning and construction?
· Under what circumstances do you support departing from council-adopted master plans?
Speeches will be followed by an audience Q&A period and a reception. (In case of inclement weather, we invite you to submit a written response to these questions to be posted on our website.) Please RSVP to Harry Stubbs, FROGGS Political Liaison, by October 4, 2011 at froggsgreenville@gmail.com or 252-364-8824.
Thank you for your service to the City of Greenville.
We hope to see you at the forum! -- Marianne Montgomery, Co-chair Friends of Greenville Greenways www.froggs.org froggsgreenville@gmail.com
