Hi All
I wanted to remind members that the Cotton Country Century ride will be held this year on Sunday September 25th. The ride start returns to uptown Greenville this year and follows the same routes out towards Stokes and Robersonville that we used a couple of years ago. Registration is open on the club web site.
As always, we are looking for volunteers to help with organizing the ride. We will need folks to be in charge of the registration desks the day of the ride. These folks would be able to join the ride if they wish, as most of the work takes place before the ride starts.
We also need folks to run the two rest stops. The first one is just outside of Stokes and needs to be occupied from around 9:30 to about 11:00. The second one is in Robersonville and serves as both the 40 mile stop on the 100k and 100mi routes and the 80 mile stop on the 100mii route. This stop needs to be occupied from about 10:30 to around 4pm. Finally, there is a stop at 60mi on the 100mi route. This one needs personnel from around noon to around 2pm. We would like to put teams of 2-3 people at each stop. If we get enough volunteers we will divide the 40mi stop into two teams.
The other need is for divers for the SAG vehicles. It would be good to have 2-4 people volunteer to do this.
Please contact me by email (pgares@aol.com) if you can help out in any way. As many long time members know, this event is the major fundraiser for our club, and allows us to be involved in the various community biking initiatives throughout the year. Please do your part to help out by volunteering for one of these activities (or more if you can!).
