Road Riding

safer roads
Alan Gindoff

As a cyclist, do you have any concerns about riding anywhere in Pitt County? Ever cross a rough railroad track, get frustrated with a traffic signal that does not detect you, concerned that bike lanes are few and disconnected, speed limits set too high, bridges too narrow, or have other safety concerns? If so, here is a limited time opportunity to help shape the transportation infrastructure of Pitt County via a very quick survey.

>The Transportation Planning Division of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Pitt County, the Greenville Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Mid-East Rural Planning Organization, is developing a Comprehensive Transportation Plan for the County. A Comprehensive Transportation Plan is a long-range planning document that will assist local governments in making transportation decisions for the next 25-30 years. Your participation is essential in identifying transportation needs for Pitt County.

Thanks for posting Alan!  Just completed the survey.  This is a great opportunity to point out areas where  YOU want to see changes in terms of bike access and safety.  I encourage anyone who rides on the roads or (few) paths to fill out the survey and provide their input!!
