So here is the idea: Start at one brewery (sample drinking is optional), ride to another (pause and refresh) and then ride back to yet another. The idea is not to encourage drinking but social riding and fun. Since Greenville has two breweries and will be opting a third soon, the time seems right to try it out in Pitt Co. Dickenson Ave was just reopened. So I plan to set up a ride incorporating the 3 in Greenville and the famous Duck-Rabbit in Farmville for the fall, maybe. But I'd like to give it a "trial" ride first. So this Saturday June 10 at 1:30pm meet at Uptown Brewery for a short (1/2 hour?) social/sampling. We'll then ride out to Farmville (about 16 miles) as a social group (no drop but riders should be able to do at least 14-15 mph). We'll arrive at Duck-Rabbit and stay for 1/2 hour or so. So about 3:30 (or as the group decides) ride back to Greenville to social/sample at Trollingwood. Total mileage would be around 32 miles at a comfortable pace. Riders should feel free to join us for one leg if they wish. The idea is not to drink much but to explore the route (Evans,Howell, Arlington, Stantonsburg, Farmville, Dickenson roads) and work out details for the more organized future ride. It is meant to be a social ride. So hammer out your workout in the morning, if you wish, and then come chill for a ride in the afternoon.
